There are times when you must transfer files from you iPod to PC. Maybe you just had an hard drive crash, or just accidentally deleted your files. Maybe you manually managed you music and don’t have it on your computer anymore. Or maybe you just want the files on your computer.
Here is an easy tutorial on how to do that for free:
What you’ll need:
iPod (obviously).
Sharepod - This is the free program we’ll use to transfer the files. Get it here.
Getting Started:
Download Sharepod and Unzip it to any location you want. To stay organized, put it in c:\Program Files and then make a shortcut for SharePod.exe on your desktop.
After you connect your iPod to the computer, run Sharepod. It will automatically read everything inside your ipod.
note: If itunes starts automatically, exit it first so that no sync issues occur.
Choose Your Tracks:
Choose the tracks you want to copy and select “Copy to PC”
Select the Destination folder and how you want the filename to appear, and click ok.
That’s it! Easy, isn’t it?
note: In Vista, you might have to “Run As administrator” in order for it to have the ability to copy the music to certain locations on the hard drive.
If it doesn’t work at first, right click the shortcut and click “Run as administrator”.
